Things To Pray For In November
In a recent quarterly prayer request email, Mark Prater quotes Charles Spurgeon from his book “The Power of Prayer in a Believers Life”. Mr Spurgeon writes,
"What we desire in prayer is an audience with God. If the Lord does not hear us, we have gained nothing. And what an honour it is to have an audience with God. The frail, feeble, undeserving creature is permitted to stand in the august presence of God, the God of the whole earth. And the Lord regards that poor creature as if there were nothing else for him to observe, bending his ear and his heart to listen to that creature's cry. It is essential that we know that we are speaking to God and that God is hearing us.”
Isn’t this amazing? Because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross, when we pray, we are permitted to stand in the very presence of God, and He bends his ear and heart and listens to our requests. What a stunning reality! And so, with that in mind, here’s how you can be praying for our global endeavours in the month ahead...
Please pray for the Sovereign Grace Churches Pastors & Leaders Conference, November 11-13th November, in Orlando, Florida, asking God to work in a way that the leaders, pastors, and wives of our churches would be equipped for what God has called them to do, encouraged in our gospel mission and partnership, and that our unity as a family of churches would strengthened, all for the purpose of advancing the gospel, for the glory of God alone.
Please pray for the three interest meetings that will happen on the Thursday afternoon of the conference for Church Planting, the Pastors College and Trinity College. Please pray that God would give attendees both faith and wisdom, as they consider important next steps.
Please pray for our SG Commissioned Pastor in Lebanon, Juanjo, as he continues to seek to launch a SG Church in Lebanon. He recently started a bible study that 16 people attended. Please pray for gospel conversions, and that this study would be the seeds for a church plant.
Please pray for country of Ethiopia asking God to end the civil war, which has started again between the Ethiopian government and the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front that controls the Tigray region. Specifically, please pray for the members and pastors of Trinity Fellowship, our Sovereign Grace Church in Addis Ababa, asking God to protect and provide for them.
Please pray for all the members of Sovereign Grace around the world, that wherever we find ourselves placed, that He would continue to give us a impassioned desire and opportunity to share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ with the unbelievers in our communities, colleges and workplaces.
Please pray that God would continue to provide financially for Sovereign Grace Churches so that we can continue to fund the many gospel opportunities that He is giving us throughout the world.
… What a kind and faithful God He is, and remember that as you pray, incredibly, He is bending His ear and His heart to listen to you.
